Waning Moon Dance and Candle Making Workshop

Make, Create, Illuminate”

February 07, 1- 4 pm, 2026, Barwon Downs Hall

Workshop Description

This session explores the Waning Moon phase. We honour the ancient art of candle-making and observe the Celtic cross-quarter festival of Lammas, the harvest, and the waning light. Make a candle to take home, let it guide your movement and creative practice. Open to women aged 16+ and those identifying. No dance experience necessary, just a willingness to connect and explore in a safe space. This is the final workshop in this series.

What awaits you…

Candle Making– a hands-on, transformative, meditative process. Also FUN! As we create our candles, we’ll weave our wishes and intentions into creation – a collective offering to the world.

Creative Dance – aims to lead each dancer into the rich and varied artistic, emotional, physical and spiritual levels of human experience – music from all ages and cultures is used. Explore self-expression, movement with props, group, partner and solo dances. Experience ceremony and outdoor dances. Awaken creative energy with earth-based practices.

AfterMoon Tea – following the session, join us for nourishing snacks and drinks. Bring a plate to share or something nice to drink.

“A beautiful women’s circle and creative dance practice, carefully held with attention to detail. Safe, supportive, and deeply nourishing. The experience allowed me to connect with myself and others in a meaningful way, and I felt both free and grounded throughout. It was a gift to be part of such a well-facilitated space where each moment was crafted with care.”

Lyndel

…. It was such a sacred feminine exploration, I felt very held by the other women… we held each other and were given permission to be free… it was very freeing… yet safe. Afterwards I felt that I had reconnected with my heart, my creativity and the joy of child-me.

Tiffany

“My lunar connection has already deepened and I had a felt-sense experience of how the feminine aspect of me is connected to this heavenly body during the workshop. Hard to put into words….and more than just the cyclical nature of the Feminine….I’m feeling so  grateful to Elle and the Women.”

Amanda

“I recently participated in WildHoney’s New Moon Dance Workshop: Creative Exploration for Women, and it was a wonderful experience. The flowing movement, space for focusing on intentions, planting, softness, and dance connected us deeply to the earth, moon, and variations of feminine energy. I found it playful, surprising, and filled with joy. The workshop space was beautifully curated, creating an inviting and sacred atmosphere. Elle and Amanda held the space with such grace, making everyone feel welcome and connected. I left feeling rejuvenated, quietly proud of the surprising part of me I hadn’t expressed in a long time, and peaceful. I can truly recommend this workshop to anyone seeking a space to explore movement, connection, and the beauty of feminine energy”.

I loved the workshop, I loved that there was the invitation to participate and the way that you invited everyone meant everyone was ready to drop in as well as the opening and the participation. I really appreciated being able to share in a smaller circle and get into the dance, I really loved that. When we created the dances, that really filled my cup and made me excited and brought a sense of relief too, that we CAN do these things, watching the other women dance was so moving and emotional and beautiful, and then knowing we created a dance after that other people also watched that was really one of the highlights and I really loved those led hooded gowns and the play, the play is just so comforting to play and be present.
